2D Film Reel

Film 2D enables annotators and reviewers to closely inspect object annotations captured across camera sensors. After an object is labeled and tracked in a camera view, reviewers can select that annotation and trigger a 2D film reel. This displays the annotation in a grid view across frames, with the ability to pan and zoom into the relevant area of the image. This makes it far easier to validate accuracy, consistency, and precision in object tracking. The feature is designed to be good and lean on process - ensuring high-quality review without unnecessary complexity.

Steps to Use 2D Film Reel

Select the annotation

Select a rectangle on the current frame.

Open grid mode

Click on the Film Reel icon to open the grid mode.

View across frames

A panel appears showing the rectangle's state across all frames on that specific camera sensor.

Enter edit mode

Click a cell to activate editing mode.

A blue border appears.

Edit annotation

You can now edit position and dimensions.

A keyframe is created, the cell's badge turns blue, and a blue line appears under the frame in the timeline.

Exit edit mode

Press Esc to exit edit mode; the blue border disappears.

Scroll frames

You can scroll across frames within the Film Reel to review all appearances.

Delete a cuboid from a frame

Use the trash icon to quickly delete a cuboid from a specific frame.
